Song in Progress: How it starts

I was asked how I start writing a music track, so here's an example.

Like all the others, this one starts as an idea I throw into Ableton Live — my DAW of choice. Since I can't really play an instrument, I lean on the drawing tools in whatever DAW I'm using to "draw" the idea out. From there I expand it and add layers of instruments.

Still learning mixing and mastering — an art all its own.
